About the Program, The CHW Digital Classroom provides the necessary MiCHWA-approved training to become a Community Health Worker (CHW), Patient Educator Specialist, or Patient Care Provider. Through our specialized education, students complete 126 hours of digital classroom-based training and 40 internship hours. Our program features module capstone options for particular healthcare populations of focus. Graduates use their training to become certified healthcare providers, reshaping care team patient outcomes and empowering community health transition through demographic surveys and data collection.
Cost: $1,500 for tuition + books and fees (Financial assistance available for qualifying candidates) •Duration: 12 weeks (126 classroom hours + 40 internship hours) •Format: Digital classroom with flexible learning options •Next Cohort: Fall/Winter 2025 (Applications open July 1st, 2025)
Core CHW competencies (MiCHWA-approved) •Healthcare navigation skills •Cultural competency training •Community outreach strategies •Health advocacy and education •Data collection and reporting
Minimum 18 years of age •High School diploma or GED •Completed CHP Application form •Basic technology skills (email, web navigation, file management)
